About Me

Hello! I’m Michael Desrosiers.

In less than a year (May ‘13) I will be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies. Eventually I plan on going to grad school to study for my Master’s in International Relations, but I think I will probably work for a year in between to start saving up some money.

Ultimately I would love to work for the US government, particularly State Department. Mainly though I want a job that will allow me to travel, whether that’s with the government or a private company.

I want to see and experience as much of the world as I can. I believe that as the world is becoming increasingly connected and globalized it is becoming vastly more important to be a responsible global citizen. To me that this entails trying to learn and understand as much about the world and world affairs as is possible. As we enter the 21st century having access to the internet and being connected to the rest of the world by social media we no longer have an excuse to be ignorant to the world around us. It’s a big place and there’s lots to learn!

I have traveled some, although I hope to visit many more places as soon as I can. In addition to English (obviously), I speak German and am currently teaching myself Spanish through the use of the internet and some very helpful podcasts.

Hopefully all this is interesting, I really don’t know what else to put here. I am starting this blog to try to stay connected as I begin my last year of college before leaving for the “real world” and to keep myself motivated as I move into grad school and my future career. I hope that I am able to share some interesting links, articles, and pictures. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to keep a log of my travels on here! Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments and I’ll be happy to get back to you as soon as I can.
